CentOS 7

I've bought a Japan LES VPS a couple of days ago, and installed the CentOS 7 image on it. Is it normal that all of the included repos in the image are disabled?

Re: CentOS 7

Probably not, I will be updating all the templates in January.

The CentOS 7 was the first OpenVZ template release so its probably a bit buggy.

Re: CentOS 7

Template is minimal and you need to add repos depending on what you want to install.

Even if the template is minimal, I don't think disabling the 3 main repos (base, extras and updates) is acceptable.
When I installed the template after I get the VPS, I cannot even do 'yum update' before fixing the '/etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.repo' which is just an empty file in a fresh install.

For example, Securedragon's CentOS 7 minimal template still has those three repos enabled. Not being able to download critical updates after a fresh install isn't exactly a good first-time experience.

Re: CentOS 7

you are correct, I did not know it was like that, FYI this is just the template released by OpenVZ I did not disable it myself, I will get that updated though.

Re: CentOS 7

Never tried CentOS myself and you are correct that atleast the base repos should be available.
I misunderstood your first post, sorry.

Re: CentOS 7

Just tried to reinstall CentOS 7 on one of the VPSes I have. The image is still not updated and has to be fixed manually again.
