Re: kernel 042stab117.14

For no specific reason you want every node rebooted?

Seems reasonable.

security, bug fixes, and enhancements are not good reasons?

how long could take a reboot of the hostsystem? 5-30 minutes? for security i accept this downtime.

you can also install the new kernel and do not reboot the host immediately, but if the next reboot of the host will come - and trust me it will come - we have the new kernel afterwards

Re: kernel 042stab117.14

Hi,

For our part, we use KernelCare on all our nodes. This sometime do not reflect the latest kernel inside of the VM.

Re: kernel 042stab117.14

Yep, I use kernel care as well, it takes about 4 hours to fully reboot and settle a LES node.

Re: kernel 042stab117.14

wow 4 hours for an reboot? thats a long time....

but if you use kernel care, it's okay - so we have an actually patchlevel but we don't see it inside the vps - thats okay

Yep it. Can take longer for it to actually 'settle down', Dallas for example has almost 500 containers on it.
