All ports besides SSH one closed

Hello, recently I got myself a 128mb server from Inception Hosting and tried to install some software on it that needs access from the outer world, SSH connection worked perfectly but when I tried to connect with the software I got an error about server not responding to that port. I did a fast check on my NAT IP and ports and turns out only SSH one is usable, any idea why?

Also, don't judge me yet for using a certain term wrong, still new to the world of very low end solutions and a bit more advanced systems hmm

Re: All ports besides SSH one closed

can you telnet to 127.0.0.1 <port> that is supposed to be listening?

No, simply shows "Connection refused".

Re: All ports besides SSH one closed

in that case it has nothing to do with port forwarding, it is more likely that your service is not actually listening or you have not opened the port in your iptables.
