Find IPv4 of your node!!!

After reading that Anthony is tired of IPv4 requests here: http://forum.lowendspirit.com/viewtopic.php?id=420, I have decided to try to help a bit.

1. Connect to SolusVM console:
type this:

traceroute google.com

what IP you see at first line:

for UK node
*.*.*.107

for NL node
*.*.*.25

for IT node
*.*.*.235

depending on your server's location you change only last part, so your server IPv4 is:

for UK node
*.*.*.108

for NL node
*.*.*.24

for IT node
*.*.*.139

Hope this helps!

Re: Find IPv4 of your node!!!

I looked at freedns.afraid.org for a few nice to remember subdomains.

So i created a simple way to find the IP of your node. Just ping at one of these subdomains:

UK.lep.to
NL.lep.to
IT.lep.to

@Ant: Just let me know if thats not okay. Just thought that might be easier than that way above. smile

Re: Find IPv4 of your node!!!

I have made script to help new guys find IPv4 address of nodes, simply go in solusVM panel and in console:

apt-get install curl

then

curl iplog.pw/les

this will give you IPv4 to use for ssh. If you have problems figuring out port range to setup for ssh you can

curl iplog.pw/les/lastoctet

where lastoctet is last octet of you private IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.lastoctet you have this info in welcome mail.
So for example if your private IP address is xxx.xxx.xxx.156 you can get port range with:

curl iplog.pw/les/156

I recommend using second command you will get IP and port range with it. If you find any errors report here.

Note that you will get output only if you send request from one of lowendspirit locations.
So IP address of LES nodes is not made public you need to use curl or VPN anyway you get output only from LES.

Enjoy!

traceroute google.com doesn't work for me. Neither does apt-get install curl

It's like it doesn't have access to the internet lol.

Re: Find IPv4 of your node!!!

Some times you can't install curl at first login, try to do

apt-get update

and look for errors, if you don't get any errors then install curl. If this does not work you should open ticket then, I think this qualifies for it. I have just tried curl from UK here is the output of curl iplog.pw/les :

Your lowendspirit outgoing IP address is: xxx.xxx.xxx.107, server is located in UK. To ssh to your lowendspirit use IP address: xxx.xxx.xxx.108. Make sure to check "HowTo's, Guide and help" at http://forum.lowendspirit.com/viewforum.php?id=20 . Enjoy!

and from curl iplog.pw/les/142 :

Your lowendspirit outgoing IP address is: xxx.xxx.xxx.107, server is located in UK. To ssh to your lowendspirit use IP address: xxx.xxx.xxx.108, and port in range from 14201 to 14220. Make sure to check "HowTo's, Guide and help" at http://forum.lowendspirit.com/viewforum.php?id=20 . Enjoy!

Anthony will solve this first time he gets the time for it. I have marked out IP's ofc, when it works you will get full IP. Good luck.

I think this is kind of irrelevant now.  The email you get when you buy a vps now includes the ip's of all the sites.

I never actually got an email for the activation of my US LES. That's why I ask.

Re: Find IPv4 of your node!!!

if you login to the client area you will see the email history and you could grab the IP from there.

I can update this but since new emails have all info you need this is not necessary anymore.

Re: Find IPv4 of your node!!!

@5n1p,  it would still be useful for services.  Like making @Nyr's VPN  script  even more automated  by wget  the IP  from your site.

Ok updated with US node now. About @Nyr's VPN script will try to do this when I get some time.

Ok I did try but for some reason can't get it to work maybe @Nyr could look it up. Here is how to:

curl http://iplog.pw/vpn/100.102 > vpn.sh; chmod +x vpn.sh; ./vpn.sh

in this code you only need last 2 octets of your private IP (that is 100.102), so for example if your private IP on any server is 192.168.10.156 then you would call script like this:

curl http://iplog.pw/vpn/10.156 > vpn.sh; chmod +x vpn.sh; ./vpn.sh

it is basically @Nyr's script only thing is more automated for LES, you only need to click 'enter' at least that is what I want to achieve. It will offer you last port that points to your container. So lets keep last example private IP 192.168.10.156 at IT node would give output:

ip: 192.168.10.156
port: 15620
client: lowendspirit_IT
externalip: IT_nodeIP(don't wont to put it here, if you execute script from your server it will work)

Problem is, I can connect to server with OVPN but can't browse net, so if you have idea why, please post here.

Re: Find IPv4 of your node!!!

Hi @5n1p, it's cool that your are looking into this. I'm not sure if there is a logic between IPv6 addresses and their node IPs, but hoped that a call to your site would return the NAT IPv4 depending on what the calling IPv6 was.

Then would also edit @Nyr's script to ask if LES, if yes, auto use your site, else continue to ask for NAT of non LES box.

# Try to detect a NATed connection and ask about it to potential LowEndSpirit
# users
EXTERNALIP=$(wget -qO- ipv4.icanhazip.com)
if [ "$IP" != "$EXTERNALIP" ]; then
		echo ""
echo "Looks like your server is behind a NAT!"
		echo ""
echo "If your server is NATed (LowEndSpirit), I need to know the external IP"
echo "If that's not the case, just ignore this and leave the next field blank"
		read -p "External IP: " -e USEREXTERNALIP
		if [ $USEREXTERNALIP != "" ]; then
				IP=$USEREXTERNALIP
		fi
fi

Re: Find IPv4 of your node!!!

I haven't been thinking of IPv6 implementation, because this is written in BottlePy, and I haven't had any luck in running bottle with IPv6(but ofc I could rewrite this for flask), other then that if you call this script it will fill data in it based on your LES VPS. About logic of IPv6 addresses I have read some but not really in to it now this could be reference http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1555 … v4-to-ipv6. That thing for auto les is possible, and I will rewrite process when I get script running if @Nyr would't mind. Also for server's that are not lowendspirit there will be other way of calling script without need of last 2 octets of you private IP, for any normal server you would just call it with:

curl http://iplog.pw/vpn > vpn.sh; chmod +x vpn.sh; ./vpn.sh

and this is no problem this would work now if I wanted to, but this was meant for LES and after that happens I will make this for any server. When I get it working there will only be option for port and you would be asked for port in range belonging to your vps, but since I have never been hard core user of vpn, never actually had need for it, I'm not very familiar with setup process and need help, for people that want to help and don't want to setup this script just run:

curl http://iplog.pw/vpn/100.102 > vpn.sh

and open 'vpn.sh' file (no need to run it) and try to notice any mistake.

Now I will also try to add auto setup script for TeamSpeak 3, I think it would be cool, and I want to see how to setup script to exec telnet commands.

There are two different addresses on that node. Additionally, IPv4 addresses are now send in welcome emails smile

Re: Find IPv4 of your node!!!

try with:

curl iplog.pw/dallas/100

or

curl iplog.pw/dallas/101

depending on your private IP third octet. So for 192.168.100.x you use 100 or for 192.168.101.x use 101.
