Re: Cloudflare's Free IPv6 -> IPv4 Proxy (aka how to stop bugging Anthony)

so.

with http://www.ipv6proxy.net I can acess my ipv6 address - so my config has to be OK.

so I deleted website from CF and added it again. DNS records has changed a bit, comparing to when I was adding first time.
first time:
http://img36.imageshack.us/i/s6f.bmp
now:
http://img22.imageshack.us/i/ktjg.png

progress is that now I can visit getles.tk from http://www.ipv6proxy.net
I can't visit getles.tk from my ipv4 network thought.

when I had A before , I could go ipv4, but i did not see my page, I have seen some TK stuff (tk favicon and my name as title). so It was probably some TK error...
So what I think is that I need those A records I had before, but get rid of TK domain and get some other... But I am newbie in this area, so let me know what you think.

another thing: when I had A records active, i could use ipv4. when I diabled them, site was again accessible only from ipv6

I've also created ticket via Cloudflare.

Your website is working at this moment. The DNS records you are using now are ok.

A quick update to say that finally http://paste.spittiepie.com/ loads on my home connection too!
I don't know if it was a cloudflare's issue, an issue with routing or on my isp side. But it's finally fixed big_smile

Re: Cloudflare's Free IPv6 -> IPv4 Proxy (aka how to stop bugging Anthony)

Is it possible to point the main record (AAAA) to the IPv6 address of the server?
Because I can point a AAAA records subdomain to the IPv6 address of the server without problems but I get an 1000 cloudflare error when I point the main record to the ipv6 address.

I have been using Cloudflare for one of my sites (not hosted in LES).
Some users from China report that the site becomes inaccessible when Cloudflare is enabled.

So, don't use Cloudflare if you want to serve China.

Could be the great wall of fire (firewall) in China that blocks Cloudflare.

and somehow, your site is not working for now at my home connection, my site as well

is it really due to the traceroute as mentioned earlier? As if I'm not mistaken, my ISP does block traceroute requests

p/s: it works if I tried it from my vps with ipv6, and the weird part is like in the previous posts, pinging the site works but it can't be accessed via http.

Re: Cloudflare's Free IPv6 -> IPv4 Proxy (aka how to stop bugging Anthony)

Hello

I have problem using CF and LES (USA). I'm using Minstall on my LES USA and configured to use IPV6 only like this Tutorial: Lowendguide IPV6 Minstall

When CF inactive I think my IPV6 work ok (tes using IPV6 Test but when CF is active I only see "Error 522".

Btw I set up too my another fqdn by request to Anthony to add to HA Proxy and using external IP in my A record and I got error to "503 Service Unavailable"

Thanks
Kurnia

503 means you're web server is not listening.

Re: Cloudflare's Free IPv6 -> IPv4 Proxy (aka how to stop bugging Anthony)

Most common mistake in CF is not setting ipv46 to full.

Re: Cloudflare's Free IPv6 -> IPv4 Proxy (aka how to stop bugging Anthony)

Hello,
does using this method to reverse proxy mean that every single byte out of the server is passed through CF network ? Basically the speed would depend on their network not the VPS's since you can't access the VPS directly if don't have a IPV6 connection. Am I right?
Also if someone has IPV6 connectivity will it have priority over IPv4?

This does apply for HTTP connections only. Speed would depend on both networks, but CloudFlare has many points of presence around the world, so latency isn't noticeable.

Oh, and you can set your webserver to listen on one of your NATed ports and connect directly if you prefer.

Depends on your configuration client-side.

Re: Cloudflare's Free IPv6 -> IPv4 Proxy (aka how to stop bugging Anthony)

Thank you, anyway even if it had priority it will go to CF IPv6 IP anyway so it will always remain a proxy service.
I just find it odd that if I have, let's say a mirror site, and someone downloads 1GB file, CF has to delivery via proxy the same amount of data for free big_smile

They specially forbid that kind of content on their TOS. Anyway, at the moment they are tolerant until you hit 100TB/month IIRC. This will probably change in the future.

Re: Cloudflare's Free IPv6 -> IPv4 Proxy (aka how to stop bugging Anthony)

Just to state the obvious for domain setup
For CloudFlare

just set the following
AAAA   yourdomain.com ip6
CNAME www                alias of yourdomain.com

Anything else that CloudFlare had generated just delete.
take the nameserver and setup your custom dns

now just wait it took 15 mins for me

if you dont have a web server setup you will get cloudflare custom error page with 521
Stating your web server is down...

in windows just run
tracert yourdomain.com

and you will notice that cloudflare just created a reverse proxy for you.

Re: Cloudflare's Free IPv6 -> IPv4 Proxy (aka how to stop bugging Anthony)

Am I missing something or can you only use this CF method if you are having CF serve up your domain and all subdomains? If I just want one subdomain of a domain to point to the IPv6, do I have to open a ticket for Anthony to do his magic or is there another way?

You need to let cloudflare handle your domain or ticket Anthony.
