Just to state the obvious for domain setup
For CloudFlare

just set the following
AAAA   yourdomain.com ip6
CNAME www                alias of yourdomain.com

Anything else that CloudFlare had generated just delete.
take the nameserver and setup your custom dns

now just wait it took 15 mins for me

if you dont have a web server setup you will get cloudflare custom error page with 521
Stating your web server is down...

in windows just run
tracert yourdomain.com

and you will notice that cloudflare just created a reverse proxy for you.

Solved my problem after headache for last few days. Thank you a lot smile

Re: Cloudflare's Free IPv6 -> IPv4 Proxy (aka how to stop bugging Anthony)

yeah thx for the guide.

1. AAAA   yourdomain.com ip6
works just fine
2. CNAME www                alias of yourdomain.com
gives me a error from cloudflare
"Error 1000 Ray ID: 113d999246af07a3
DNS points to prohibited IP"

edit: solution found.
2. AAAA         www            ip6

Re: Cloudflare's Free IPv6 -> IPv4 Proxy (aka how to stop bugging Anthony)

Do you know if there's a way to forward non-IPV6 clients to the VPS transparently but using the BW from the VPS? Basically a proxy but just for requests? I would imagine that would be impossible but let's see big_smile

EDIT: sorry that I was a stupid question, I didn't mean to get a direct access to the VPS (that would require to actually use a IPV6 connection or access the IPV4 port) but if I can use the BW with no caching at all. I noticed that you can set which URL to never cache, that's OK but it would still need to use the proxy so it would count against my virtual Cloudflare BW allowance won't it?

Re: Cloudflare's Free IPv6 -> IPv4 Proxy (aka how to stop bugging Anthony)

I've got my ipv6 domain (using dot.tk) and it's working, but teamspeak  server doesn't support ipv6 yet.

Any workaround?

Use the IPv4 NATed ports.

Basically the only reason to bug Anthony to setup HAproxy rules is to get an almost-native ipv4 connectivity without tunneling right? Otherwise CF pretty much does the job.

Re: Cloudflare's Free IPv6 -> IPv4 Proxy (aka how to stop bugging Anthony)

Hi,

I am still figuring out this IPv6 - IPv4 thing, please bare with me. I setup squid proxy listening to port 7788, since based on IPv4 the port will not be allocated, I tried using IPv6 as other way to connect to the VPS port 7788.

I then setup a domain at CF and pointing A record to the IPv4 and AAAA sub domain to the allocated IPv6. However, I still can't access the proxy through the sub domain while the IPv6 is already activated at CF.

I couldn't find this page on CF though since the layout of CF has changed a lot.

CF

Am I making the right way or this is not possbile to accomplish?

Do I have to change configuration in the VPS for this to be able to connect?

Please help, thanks

@baxo

Cloudflare only works on port 80 afaik
Also, it may not work with the http proxy protocol, so squid will need be used as a transparent proxy
Add another ipv6 to your server, set squid to listen on that ipv6 at port 80
Remove the A record for the subdomain
Set the AAAA to the ipv6 allocated

Re: Cloudflare's Free IPv6 -> IPv4 Proxy (aka how to stop bugging Anthony)

It won't work for me, it says Server can't be reached
Ipv6 port 80 should be opened (using an ipv6proxy to connect to my vps i get a 403 forbidden error, but at least the port should be there and working).
These are the configs I've set on CloudFlare

AAAA
    mywebsite.ml
points to 2607:5600:c6:1c::XXXX (already given ipv6 address)
    Automatic
AAAA
    www.mywebsite.ml
    points to 2607:5600:c6:1c::XXXX
    Automatic

CNAME
    cname
    is an alias of www.mywebsite.ml
    Automatic

Any clue?

CORRECTION

Cloudflare settings should be fine (according to ipv6-test.com),  it seems like it's the vps rejecting connection from Cloudflare, though I can't figure out why
