You should be able to connect using the external IP and port 13221

Re: I am not able to connect to KtlGMbcE by putty.

I am so frustrated now, I cannot do anything to login with putty, and now "You Have Been Blacklisted - Contact Support" for logging into the control. vmpanel. The information regarding "You don't know where to start? One of our members has made a tutorial here: https://webhostscene.com/2016/02/19/getting-started-with-lowendspirit/" is not in service.
Now how I can start working vps?

Re: I am not able to connect to KtlGMbcE by putty.

Which host is that, there are 4 here?

You get blacklisted by entering the wrong username/password combo 5 times in a row, it self-resets after 30 minutes.

When you say you cant connect what EXACTLY do you mean, no connection at all, or the password is not correct?

Have you tried over IPv6, have you tried checking your network config via the serial console?

Re: I am not able to connect to KtlGMbcE by putty.

I connected via the serial console, but I have not had chance to connect to vps with the external IP, 98.143.xxx.xxx and assigned port number by PuTTY.

I installed Debian 8 minimal server on vps, and sshd_config with assigned port,

Port 133XX
#Port
ListenAddress 0.0.0.0
ListenAddress ::
HostKey /etc/ssh/ssh_host_rsa_key
HostKey /etc/ssh/ssh_host_dsa_key
Protocol 2
Subsystem sftp /usr/lib/openssh/sftp-server
ChallengeResponseAuthentication no
PermitRootLogin yes
UsePAM yessole,
UsePrivilegeSeparation yes

I installed vpn server as trial via the console, but not with puTTY.

I am still trying to get the information how to use puTTy to connect directly not by using console.

Thanks for your help,

James

Re: I am not able to connect to KtlGMbcE by putty.

I have tried many times to connect the vps with external IP 98.143.xxx.xxx and forward port 13XXX(I have been using other than 13XXX).

My main internal IP is XXX.16.70.XXX.

I also tried to change port number for /etc/ssh/sshd_config,and service sshd restart but I was not able to connect to vps at all.

I need help please,

James

Re: I am not able to connect to KtlGMbcE by putty.

Which host is it please?

Remove the custom port from your sshd config, the redirected port usually works by forwarding to port 22 on your local IP if you tell your sshd to listen on 13220 it obviously is not going to work any more.

This is really basic stuff.

If you want to use a custom port I imagine your available ports are from 13201 - 13220

If you use 13220 then you use the external IP with 13220 you can teste this after you set it and restart your sshd by connecting via the serial console, when logged in just run ssh -p 13220 127.0.0.1

Please also check that you even have an IPv4 configured OpenVZ is not perfect and you only end up with venet0 and no venet0:0 so you have no IP address essentially.

Anyway if you just told us what host this was when I asked initially or in your initial post someone could have alerted them and the would have helped you by now, I was not asking for fun.

Re: I am not able to connect to KtlGMbcE by putty.

You still haven’t mentioned who you have this vps with?
Most, if not all of the LES Providers forwards the external port <last octet of ip>21 to your internal port 22

Do you have any iptables rules active?
Can you ping the outside from your vps (using serial console).

Re: I am not able to connect to KtlGMbcE by putty.

The external is in Los Angeles so I assume its Deepnet/David.

I will ping him on skype, but it is not even 5am there yet and its the weekend so don't expect a rapid response.

Re: I am not able to connect to KtlGMbcE by putty.

I tried to connect to that port on that IP and I got connection refused, something is listening but not accepting the connection

Hi,

-- Never post a public IP directly to the forum.

Also, I just checked your config, and you still forward the port manually, which you should not.
Explanation to solve the issue has been tell to you in this thread already. Be sure to follow them correctly.
