IPSEC VPN for BudgetVZ

@RyanB:

BudgetVZ e.g. BV128 has a dedicated IPV4 address. Therefore it might be possible to setup Cisco IPSEC VPN for it (e.g. with racoon: http://diary.archangelsdy.com/blog/2012 … or-debian/. Some IPV6 kernel support might be necessary. Would it be possible to provide necessary kernel modules or necessary kernel support on request?

Re: IPSEC VPN for BudgetVZ

I have had dealings with this there are issues with AES256 iirc if you force 128 and are ok with ignoring a ton of errors (warnings) it is possible to get it working but yes you will need a number of modules loaded.

Re: IPSEC VPN for BudgetVZ

Am I right that I can't change the used kernel under SolousVPS? How I can get the necessary kernel modules for IPSEC which fit to the kernel provided by SolousVPS? I already have a MiniVPS256 at Dallas location. Is it possible to try IPSEC VPN with it?

Re: IPSEC VPN for BudgetVZ

SolusVM is just the control panel, the virtualisation (if it can be called that) is OpenVZ.

As an end user no you cannot load your own kernel modules, I am happy to look in to any modules for you however some of them require adding some things to the container that would constitute a security risk so may not be possible.

I would suggest if you need to run your own custom modules then you need your own kernel, something like littlehappycloud.net might be better for you than a Dallas LES.

Re: IPSEC VPN for BudgetVZ

Do you know if Evoburst/Evobilling BudgetVZ - BVZ128 at location Atlanta supports loading of an own kernel? I would prefer it because of dedicated IPV4 address. If it is not possible to load an own kernel can you support me with kernel modules which are necessary for IPSEC at this location?

Re: IPSEC VPN for BudgetVZ

@Forenuser - Please contact me @ evobilling.com to talk about BudgetVZ Products, this forum is for NAT IPv4 Products.

But the answer is no about loading your own kernel, on BudgetVZ. As it is OpenVZ.

@RyonB:

I tried to get in contact with you @evabilling.com by using "Pre-Sales Contact Us" but didn't get an answer.
