Service suspended

Server is down, apparently suspended.

No idea what the issue is but would like to resolve to get it back online.

Please advise how to proceed.

Thank you.

Re: Service suspended

I use this vps and have not / did not torrent the movie you referred to.

My port range does not include port 27076.

I think this is a case of mistaken identity.

In the 3 1/2 years I've had the vps I have always used it responsibly.

Would you please review / unsuspend the service?

Thank you in advance.

Re: Service suspended

That is a source port, nothing to do with your port range, I got that abuse report, I checked who had active torrent traffic, it was your VPS.

Re: Service suspended

All I know is that I did not use it to torrent anything.

If you will unsuspend it I will lock it down to make certain it has not been compromised.

Sorry for the trouble.

Re: Service suspended

Can you tell me if there was a user logged into the vps during the infraction timeframe?  If so what IP address was that connecton made from?

I am certain that no torrent files were being hosted on the vps.

Anything that would help me understand the situation would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Re: Service suspended

I have unsuspended your server, based on what I can see (best guess) you were connected via VPN while downloading/seeding, I have no doubt the traffic was coming from your server, however as you have been a customer so long I will not terminate your service, obviously it goes without saying any further abuse and it is gone.

Re: Service suspended

Okay so the services has again been suspended and the reason given on the billing portal is torrenting.

After the last suspension I eliminated all users other than myself, revoked all vpn certificates, and even shutdown OpenVPN to eliminate any possibility of misuse.

I added IPtables rules to block any sort of torrenting traffic.

I am the sole person with access to the vps and do not and have not been using it for torrenting.

Yet again the service has been suspended for torrenting.

Everything I have done is focused on IPV4 because that is what I am familiar with and use.

How is it possible that torrenting traffic was running through my VPS?

Re: Service suspended

The only explanation here is that torrent traffic is running through your VPS without you knowing it, that is for you to investigate further.

I have unsuspended your VPS, if it happens again I will open a ticket and show you the traffic before terminating your service.

My suggestion would be to not to use your vps for anything that essentially masks your own IP or anyone else's for the NAT IP of the node.
