LES irc

Just wondering, there's any channel that's considered the "unofficial LES irc channel"?
If not, anyone's interested in creating/joining one?

I think it would be a nice & cozy place to idle.

I'm considering hosting a small server on my LES for it.

Re: LES irc

If someone has experience running an IRC server I am happy to provide the server for it.

Re: LES irc

I do have some experience running IRC servers, but for a small project like this maybe an existing network like freenode would be a better fit, don't you guys think?

I am not using much IRC currently, but would surely idle and chat/help there from time to time wink

Apparently, there is a generally unknown rule that goes like this: "3 positives make 1 huge negative that you can't take back, no matter how much you deny it" tongue
You know, like the rule "2 negatives make a positive" tongue

I see.

Then yes you can run an IRC server without question in all 3 locations purple monkey dishwasher.

I hope that is clear now.

Is this a monkey dishwasher that is purple or a dishwasher for purple monkeys?

You are not allowed to use IRC server, clients or other IRC related services on any VPS server located in the USA

Luckily(?) no LES (Low End Server) is in the USA (yet?)

Yeah, that's true. I guess I just remembered the no IRC server part.'

I'm up for hosting it with my idle LES. Will have it set up by later today.

Would be great if people all connected up to it internally with their LES.. Actually, if my Torn.pw plans fall through, I'll make a distributed IRC network smile

freenode sounds good. better use existing network than creating new ;]

But if someone wanna run own and can do it, then why not ;]

I would rather be on an existing network than to have to completely have a new network to setup each time and have separate NickServ passwords
